How do you feel today? Do you feel strange? Do you feel stressed? Do you feel angry? Do you feel dejected, depressed, denied? Do you feel exasperated? Do you feel tired, exhuasted, run-down?
Believe me I know. I’ve been there. I sometimes go to bed tired and wake up tired. I get mad. I get frustrated. I get annoyed. I get downtrodden. I get overwhelmed. And if you follow the advice of all of these productive, super over-achiever personal coach business people, then you should go to bed at 8 after a healthy home prepped meal of grilled chicken and kale, while your bills are paid automatically and then wake up refreshed at 5 am to go work-out then journal, then meditate then go to work…
Yeah right! I struggle to get out of the bed in the morning for work, much less to go to the gym. I want to go to the gym, but those covers and sheets just feel soooo good! I have a morning ritual. It’s called getting up and getting ready for work and then commuting an hour. Yeah sure, I listen to some good things in the car while I’m driving. Like my bible on audio and self help improvement stuff. So while my ritual is different and not like how the experts say it should be, it’s what I do and seems to work for me.
We often worry so much about how we aren’t doing what we should. Like we should be doing something different or better or more productive. And we become regretful as if we’re missing something awesome. But aren’t other’s “shoulds” just other’s wants? I want to blaze my own trail. I don’t want to be controlled or a slave to something else. So whatever it is you do, and the way you do it, remember it’s all yours. That’s the power of our free will. And the fact you do it just means it’s yours.
